Back from Holland

I’ve just returned from a 10 day Holland trip!

I had an awesome time of training, visiting clubs, breeders and championships!! My dogs did very well in training, I am very proud of them!

The desicion is made, I will work towards Xia’s PH1 with the help of PHDC de Sluus – exciting times!

Some dogs will stick in my mind from this trip! Two potential dogs i would like to include in my breeding program. One of which ended up winning the Dutch nationals last Sunday when I was there. Very nice dog.

Special thanks to my very good friends – more like family by now! – Wes and Noes for the hospitality 🙂

SDCA2

They have found the second type of Ataxia!

Finally we have answers! Our green boy was affected by this type of Ataxia. Unfortunatly there are still more types of this horrible illness to be discovered. We ask all our breed friends – owners – breeder to send blood of their dogs to the University in Bern for research purpose. They will store it and use it for these discoveries of illnesses and health problems.

There are a lot of carriers out there, let’s get them all tested so we can avoid the illness!!  To be a carrier is ok, just not to match a carrier with a carrier. There are too many carriers out there to avoid, otherwise we will end up with different problems!

Everybody who wants to breed with a dog from us will need to test their dogs, tests can be done via mouthswab so it’s very simple and not cost effective at all. Let’s all do this to help the breed progress forward!!

D-litter

It is decided! We will use Howard des Mauvais on Lucy later this year. So excited!! Howard impressed me a while ago and originally I wanted to get a female out of him at some point. But I’m busy with our 4 for a while and he will match Lucy just perfect I think Howard is a large male with a solid temperament. Clear in his head with extreme drives and super confidence. We are planning to travel to Germany for the mating around September and this will be Lucy’s 3rd and last litter.

Breeding plans

We have decided to do Lucy’s last litter this year instead of next year. The reason for this is her bad phantom pregnancies when we don’t breed her. So Lucy will have her last litter this year and then get spayed next year so we can compete without interruptions. I have a couple of males in mind for her but haven’t decided fully yet which one to use. So our upcoming breeding plans are as followed:

Autumn 2017  D – litter  Asaldo Diamond Sky Lucy at Avonwolf – Howard des Mauvais

Spring 2018  E – litter  Arrack’s Home Xia at AvonwolfAvonwolf Al Capone Keith

Autumn 2018 F – litter  Avonwolf Born Free Elsa – Rechtsanwalt von der Steinteichmuehle
