UPDATE

Nova – now Ninja lol – has found that amazing home we were after 🙂 over the moon we knew it would come!!

Nova is a 14 month old Dutch Shepherd female, she has been in the wrong home initially unfortunately. Like so many, been bought not realising the amount of work these breeds need. She hasn’t been worked and therefor found her own ‘jobs’ in the first year of her life…. Then we’ve had a dog who chases shadows, can’t be alone, has become severely dog reactive and all together a bit lost with what she is, meant to be or wants to become….

I have been recommended and luckily the owner has booked her in on some residential training with me. Cracked right on I started working on those issues and Nova has had a great time working daily with me and her progress was immense. In the process I have bonded with her way more then I was hoping for.. it broke my heart bringing her back to her home which although is filled with love, unfortunately that’s all she gets there. She needs a working home! She started to shine in those 2 weeks she was working with me and her purpose made her so happy!

Anyway, she went back home with a lot of guidance and of course I was very clear that Nova needs more then they can offer but in the end it is their dog. Back home she went and it only took a few weeks when I get the phone call that she not only has reverted back to her old habits (she still is looking for a job!) but also they are now seeing it and are willing to give her up.

My professional opinion of Nova? I think she’s freaking AWESOME!! Great female would excel i so many places! Anyway she’s had a trial run at the police and although they absolutely loved her they didn’t have enough time before the course they needed her for to work with her. We need to treat her as a puppy who hasn’t had that year or socialising and imprinting instead she’s mostly been locked up in a pub unfortunately.

Anyway back here now until that absolute 5* home is here for her – I know life has a lot in planning for this super girl 🙂
