Apollo (Malinois)

Apollo is now a Police Dog at Lancashire Police

A rescue in Devon called me and asked for my help with a young Malinois male, they were calling him Amal. I have made the trip to go down and see him, ‘Amal’ at the time very cage aggressive would be shown to me muzzled and in a pen. He was nervous and confused combined with pretty badly under weight. His story was put to me as picked up on the street with a muzzle on, he came in as a stray and apparantly did not have a microchip.

I agreed to pick him up in the next few weeks once I can fit him in at home. Several weeks later I went to take him home. Once home and a few days in when we bonded I looked for a microchip myself – Bingo – I found one… Using my contacts I would find the address registered with him, the chip said Apollo. I have spent 3 weeks to spread the word about him far and wide to find an owner or a breeder and find out more of what happened to this boy.

One breeder traveled 3 hours to come and see him! However Apollo said no… He didn’t recognise the person.

My and Polly are bonding now like crazy, he has learned to swim, he is doing very nice obedience, I’ve started to build his grips and the recall is super solid now.

This dog pulls on my heart strings! He is so appreciative with everything, so full of life ❤
